Celebrating another Flourishing Community

Our team recently completed, and welcomed families into, this new community in Blockhouse Bay, Auckland. This 28-home development provides warm, secure and dry housing for more than 100 people and offers a strong foundation for another flourishing community.

Looking after our MATES

To further address the urgent and serious suicide problem in our industry, we have partnered with Kainga Ora and MATES in Construction to deliver General Awareness Training (GAT) in Christchurch and Auckland this month. New Zealand rugby stalwart Slade McFarland gave an engaging presentation that offered some really great practical tools to help us look after our mates and created a lot discussion on suicide prevention amongst the team.

MATES in Construction is an industry-led free program that encourages workers to look out for one another. It’s designed to help workers identify and engage with mates who may be struggling, and get long-term support.

If you're interested in becoming part of the program or taking part in the free training.

Help your Local Community - A Brush with Kindness

Owning your own home is very exciting, but it can also be costly and due to any number of reasons many low income home owners can find themselves unable to afford ongoing home maintenance

We're proud partners of Habitat for Humanity for their local home repair program, A Brush with Kindness, which helps these families in need get back on track with their home maintenance.

Our first job for the year was in Christchurch where Gordy, Roldan, Rosendo, Clarito and Jay have been fixing some urgent water ingress issues for a local homeowner. We'd like to say a massive thank you to all our build partners who have either supplied services pro bono or at cost on this project - we couldn't do what we do without you!

There is a significant wait list of families around NZ needing support from the Brush with Kindness team, so if you'd like to get involved and help families in your area, please get in touch with your local Habitat office.

Rowcliffe Completion

Our Christchurch team recently completed a number of family homes for the wonderful people at Kāinga Ora. This project took us on a unique journey and has a special place in our heart, and we extend our gratitude to our team of Build Partners for all their efforts in getting these homes ready for families to move in.

Construction Update: Oliphant Stage 2

A dramatic community transformation is now underway in Hawkes Bay, where we are partnering with the team at ATKIN Construction to replace ten old houses with 42 brand new family homes with Homestar 6 ratings, ensuring they will be warmer, drier and healthier for the families who move in. Around half of these homes are currently between foundations and internal painting and we are working through consents for the remaining - we'll keep you updated.
